CBCS FINANCIAL FACTS:

The founding objective of Drs. William and Shirley Comfort, more than 40 years ago, in launching the Chesapeake Bible College & Seminary, has remained consistent.  They wanted to bring quality Biblical College Education from the top shelf and bring it within reach for all who felt the call to pursue a Biblical Degree through an organized and recognized Bible College.

To that end, Chesapeake Bible College & Seminary has always sought to keep tuition and related costs at the lowest level that is consistent with a top rated education experience.  As a heritage correspondence school,, operation through Distance Learning Centers and individual student interactions, the College has been able to maintain a cost structure that represents a fraction of the cost of traditional on campus schools.

In 2016, research showed that the average cost of tuition at an established on campus Bible College ranged from $6,000-$12,000 per year – which still represents an excellent value in Biblical College education.  For many though, the time constraints required in an on-campus Biblical Education, let alone the financial expense, precludes most from being able to pursue their God-given passion for furthering their Christian education.

Chesapeake Bible College works diligently to provide an equivalent level academic educational experience, through its online and distance learning center approaches, while keeping the cumulative total cost of a the full Bachelors of Christian Ministry to about the cost of just one year of on-campus education.  That is why more and more people are choosing Chesapeake Bible College & Seminary as the correct move in their lives – study anytime/anywhere/affordably.

FINANCIAL POLICY:

Chesapeake Bible College & Seminary is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt religious organization and is authorized by law to grant religious degrees in the State of Florida. CBCS is a religious institution, operating in the State of Florida, offering only educational programs that prepare students for religious vocations as ministers, professionals, or laypersons in the categories of ministry, counseling, theology, education, administration, music, fine arts, media communications, or social work. The CBCS instructional program is only designed for and aimed at persons who hold or seek to learn the particular religious faith or beliefs of the church or religious institution, and provides only educational programs for religious vocations or purposes.

Chesapeake Bible College & Seminary is not a “Title IV” school, nor does it hold a “Regional Accreditation,” such as the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (M.S.A.C.S.) or the Transnational Association of Colleges and Schools (T.R.A.C.S.).  Because Chesapeake Bible College & Seminary is not a “Title IV” school, it does not receive any State or Federal funds in the form of grants, loans, etc., nor is it eligible to accept scholarship funds through programs such as the G.I. Bill.

As Chesapeake Bible College and Seminary is not recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Title IV school, we cannot accept government grants for tuition or benefits provided by the G.I. Bill.  Neither does the College routinely provide for scholarships, except in certain circumstances, because the College is not currently endowed and because our costs are purposely kept lower than almost every other college or university.  However, often, local Schools of Ministry establish scholarship funds through their local church, in order to provide assistance to needy students.

A Tuition Payment Agreement is provided to all students upon enrollment.  When completed by the student, the Tuition Payment Agreement grants authorization to the College Treasurer to make arrangements with the student’s credit card provider for the deduction of monthly installments on the student’s credit card.  Many students find this is a more convenient method of payment, and the monthly payments are less than the amount that would have to be paid “up front” when registering for each course.

Except for students enrolled in the Tuition Payment Agreement, all charges for the academic term are due and payable by the close of the term.

REFUND POLICY:

Should a student find it necessary to terminate his/her enrollment with (withdraw from) the College, a refund will be given in accordance with the following schedule:

Fees: No Admission, Annual or Transcript Evaluation fee will be refunded after a student enrolls in any program.

Tuition (traditional classroom setting):

(a)  100% for withdrawal before the end of the first week of a given Term.
(b)  75% for withdrawal after the second week of a given Term.
(c)  No refund will be given for withdrawals after the third week of a given Term.

Tuition (External Studies and Online programs):

(a) 100% for withdrawal before the end of the first month after enrollment.
(b) 50% for withdrawal up to the Second month following enrollment.
(c) No refund will be given for withdrawal from the External Studies or Online programs after the fourth month following enrollment in a given program.

A student must pay all fees which he/she owes in order to graduate.  No degrees will be awarded to students who have outstanding bills for fees owed to the College.

It is the intention of the College to keep its fees as economical as possible.  The College does, however, reserve the right to raise its fees without notice, as the need arises.
